If you’re planning to install Furreto or you’re already using it for the first time, you might wanna read this
If you’re already using Furreto, then, welcome to Furreto Linux!
Furreto Linux is a cutting-edge, user-friendly Linux distribution designed for performance, security, and customization. With a sleek interface and powerful tools, it’s perfect for both beginners and advanced users.
Furreto Linux offers the KDE Plasma desktop environment, a graphical welcome center app with some tools, a user-friendly theme, and powerful features to help you get things ready.

We put our users at the heart of everything we do. Furreto Linux is designed to be intuitive, allowing you to focus on what matters most to you, whether it’s productivity, creativity, or anything else.
We believe that operating systems should not come bloated with random software that no one is going to use. Therefore, Furreto Linux will only come with the KDE Plasma environment, allowing you to choose and install only the programs you need.
On first boot, you’ll be greeted with the KDE Plasma desktop, on the desktop you’ll see a little icon that says Install System.
Furreto Linux uses the Calamares Installer for the installation.
Once you open the installer, you’ll be greeted with the welcome screen
This installer has 8 steps:
Here you’ll be asked which packages would you like to install on your system, the installer will install them when installing the system in your computer. This is totally optional, if you do not want any apps then you’re free to opt out from that.
The installer will ask for your location if you do not have internet access, otherwise it’ll try to guess it.
This is used for setting the correct numbers, dates and locales of your system.
The installer will ask for which layout would you like to use in the system, choose the one you wish.
The installer will ask you where would you like to install the system.
You have multiple choices:
If you already have Windows or another system installed and you do not want to lose everything, if you have the enough storage, I’d strongly advice you to get the first option out of the rest.
The installer will now proceed to ask you for your username and your password.
It will ask you for these things, in order:
Apart from the “Require strong passwords.” option, there is also an autologin and use the same password for the administrator account.
If you leave the autologin enabled, the computer will not ask you for your password once you log into your computer! You might, don’t want to do that
If you leave the “use the same password for the administrator account”, it will use the same password for the “root” account, an account that has all powers on the system, you can use the same password or choose a different one
The installer will tell you a basic summary on what is going to happen on your system, you should read this carefully as this is the confirmation page where you’ll take the decision whether to install it or not. Read what changes are going to be made, how is Furreto going to be installed, and what changes are going to occur on your hard drive/removable medias.
Once you hit install, the installer will proceed to install Furreto.
Your system is being installed, just hang in there!
Your system is now installed, now you’ll be able to use Furreto once you reboot, congrats, you’re now a Furreto user
Feel free to start using your new Furreto system, explore with it a little bit, use the Discover app to install applications, learn how to use the pacman package manager
